How to grow eyelashes?

I’ve been asked many times: “Is there anything I can do to grow my own lashes?”. As far as we know eyelash length/thickness is a genetic trait. We all have eyelashes for protection- to prevent small articles and dust pieces from getting in to the eyes. Fact: usually nations living in deserts have the most beautiful, long thick lashes. Their body gained this ability to protect eyes from sand. By the way, camels have long ant thick lashes too! You can’t change it too dramatically from very short, brittle lashes to a huge thick lashes if your ancestors didn’t live in sandy desert. :)  However, you can use eyelash extensions or LVL natural lash treatment to change the appearance dramatically. There are also some ways of improving the length and thickness of your own natural lashes. Here are 4 main rules for growing your own eyelashes:

1 No mascara.

Mascaras contain oils and chemical pigments which stick to the lashes, prevents natural flexibility, reduces air flow and makes them thinner.  If you really can’t live without mascara – choose water-soluble mascara (we have it in stock, click here). Waterproof mascaras are the worst enemies for eyelashes.

2 Gentle cleaning.

Carefully remove mascara off your eyelashes only in direction of lash growth (down). Do not rub it off roughly. Use  simple gentle strokes down. Make sure there are no traces of mascara on the lashes before you go to bed. I am going to repeat a well-known rule once more time – NEVER ever go to bed with your make-up on! ( In the next article I’m going to write/make a video  about “The proper way of removing mascara”.)

3 Brush your eyelashes.

Every day before going to bed. Just like brushing your teeth or brushing your hair. Only takes few seconds to define and gently comb after you removed mascara.

4 Use eyelash serum twice daily.

This point is the MOST important on your long way to beautiful lashes. We usually taking care of our hair-conditioners/masks/moisturizing shampoos but forget about eyelashes. You should take same care of eyelashes –they need constant conditioning and moisturizing to prevent them from braking and thinning. Vaseline has good conditioning effects if you are looking for extra-simple solution, downside is that it doesn’t have many other key ingredients that lash serums contain. For those who are more adventurous I have prepared some special eyelash serums:

“Fruit magic” -Eyelash serum recipe N 3 (Home-made)

1 tea spoon of grape seed oil + 2 tea spoons of castor oil. Mix your serum in Make sure you are putting mixture on your eyelashes only, if gets in your eyes can make your vision blurry for few minutes. Apply on your eyelashes and eyelids every time before going to bed and every morning and you will see results soon. Mixture is quiet thick sometimes your eyes could be little “puffy” in the morning. Note: this mixture should be used within 48 h and kept in the fridge.

“Cocolashes”- Eyelash serum recipe N 4 (Home-made)

Coconut oil. Make sure you don’t get coconut milk! :) It’s coconut oil you are looking for! It is hard to get ,but if you decide to get one -better if you get unrefined coconut oil for your lash conditioning. Coconut oil contains moisturizing proteins, which are restoring, and bringing life to the hair and follicles. Also it contains natural vitamin E, K , iron and minerals and has soothing and antibacterial effects. Just put a few drops of coconut oil on clean mascara brush and apply on eyelashes same way as mascara. Make sure it does not get in to your eyes as you might get some burning sensation for few minutes, but it is harmless.

Whichever way you are going to choose to grow your own eyelashes, do not expect results in few days (only eyelash extensions are giving you WOW effect after few hours of us working on them!). Be patient and make sure you follow all 4 points every day. Make it your life-style, take good care of your eyelashes and you will see results. Your lashes deserved it!
